Is Steer a workshop?
No, Steer is not a workshop. We do not offer repair or maintenance services of any kind. Rather, our platform is designed to empower car owners to independently make their own decisions – including determining which workshops best fit their needs and whether or not they choose to book an appointment.

Is booking with Steer free?
Yes, booking appointments with Steer is completely free. We want to make car maintenance as easy as possible for you.

Please note that payment for repair and maintenance services is to be made at the workshop. Many of our workshop partners make their pricing transparent on their Steer profile page. However, if you are unsure how much a service cost, we encourage you to check with the workshop using the "Chat on WhatsApp" button located on each workshop's profile page.

Do you have an app?
At present, we have not developed a mobile app for Steer. However, you can easily add our website to your smartphone's home screen so you can access it on-the-go.

How do I know which workshop to choose?
Steer was designed to empower car owners to independently make their own car maintenance decisions – including determining which workshops best fit their needs and whether or not they choose to book an appointment. That’s why we offer so much information! When you’re choosing a workshop via Steer, you can research their product pricing, rating and reviews from other car owners, background, features and amenities, brand of products used, and more. Don’t forget to leave a review after your Steer appointment so you can help other car owners independently find the right workshop for their needs.

If you have any quotation related enquiries, we encourage you to discuss directly with the workshop using the "Chat on WhatsApp" button located on each workshop's profile page.

How do I check my chassis number?
Your vehicle's unique chassis number helps your workshop identify your vehicle. Finding your chassis number is easy. You can do it online.

Simply follow these steps:

  • Open up this page.
  • Enter your 1) vehicle plate number and 2) the last 4 characters of NRIC.
  • For the intended deregistration date field, any date will do.
Your vehicle chassis number will be under the "Vehicle Details" section.

How do I make an appointment?
It’s easy! Just go to the Workshops page and type in your location or the type of service you need. You can also choose the type of car, opening hours and more to help make sure you get the right fit!

We’ll show you a list of different car service providers who may meet your needs. You can even view their product pricing, rating and reviews from other car owners, background, features and amenities, brand of products used. Just click on the "Instant Book" or "Book an appointment" button and follow the quick prompts to book your appointment in minutes.

How do I change or cancel an appointment?
If you need to change or cancel your appointment, you can do so in your Steer account. Just click here to login. Once you're logged in, you'll see a link to My Bookings.

Appointments can be changed at My Bookings ⟶ Upcoming Bookings ⟶ Change Appointment.

Appointments can be cancelled at My Bookings ⟶ Upcoming Bookings ⟶ Cancel Appointment.

But please note that cancelling, rescheduling and/or no-showing too many appointments may result in your account being locked, and we’d hate to see that happen! This policy ensures that workshops' calendars stay accurate and trustworthy for the community who depend on them.

How do I know that my appointment has been booked?
If you’ve reached a page that says, “Your appointment is confirmed” then rest assured – you’re all set! Soon you’ll receive an email from Steer with helpful details about your upcoming appointment.

If your appointment is “pending confirmation”, please allow up to one working day for a confirmation from the workshop. Once confirmed, you’ll receive an SMS and an email from Steer.

How does my workshop know that I have an appointment with them?
When you make an appointment via Steer, your booking information is sent to the workshop.

Our workshop partners can then retrieve your service records via their Steer dashboard. This will allow them to plan ahead to provide you with the best possible experience.

How do I contact my workshop?
Your workshop's contact details can be found at My Bookings ⟶ Upcoming Bookings ⟶ Contact.

I will be late for an appointment. What should I do?
If you are able to, please login and update your appointment time at My Bookings ⟶ Upcoming Bookings ⟶ Change Appointment, or contact your workshop directly to inform them.

Will I have to wait when I bring my car down to service?
There is no wait time. A car bay will be reserved for you by our partner workshop for fifteen minutes.

How do I receive my cashback?
If you have booked your appointment with us, your cashback will be automatically credited into your Steer account upon completion of your servicing (i.e. made payment to the workshop). There is no action required from you.

My cashback is not in my account. What should I do?
If you do not receive your cashback within 24 hours upon completion of your servicing, please contact us at [email protected] for assistance.

How much cashback do I get?
You get 50% cashback, up to a maximum of $25, which can be used at verified workshops on Steer. Your cashback is calculated based on your total bill. The cashback is only valid for a 12-month period.

My cashback amount is wrong. What should I do?
Please contact us at [email protected] for assistance.

Can I use my cashback with any workshop?
Not yet, but that’s what we’re working toward! You can currently only use your cashback at any Steer workshop partners. These are workshops who have partnered with us to make your car maintenance experience better – and more workshops join us every day.

If you would like to spend your cashback at a workshop that is currently not one of Steer's workshop partners, please refer the workshop to Steer by sharing this sign up link.

How do I use my cashback?
Your cashback can be used for subsequent services at any workshop partners on Steer.

Upon arrival at the workshop, please let the workshop know that you are a Steer customer. This will allow the workshop to check your cashback balance and deduct the amount from your total bill.

I want to reset my password
If you've forgotten your password or are having trouble logging in to your Steer account, click this link to reset your password:
Enter the email address you use for Steer, and you'll be emailed a link to reset your password.

I want to update my password
If you know your current password, but you want to change it:
  1. Go to Profile on steer.sg
  2. Select "Change your password"
  3. Under Change Your Password enter your new password
I use Facebook to log in, but I want to create a Steer password
If you created a Steer account by connecting to Facebook, you weren't required to create a password.

You can continue to log in via Facebook, or if you'd like to create an Steer password, first log out of your Steer account, then follow the steps as if you forgot your password. Once you create a Steer password, you'll no longer be able to sign in using Facebook, but your Steer account will still be connected to Facebook.

Will you reveal my personal details to anyone?
No, we will never release your personal details to anyone apart from the workshop you have booked with. Our privacy policy can be found here.

How do I recommend a workshop?
We receive workshop recommendations all the time. However, they need to go through our verification process before being listed on our platform. Simply share this sign up link with the workshop to kickstart the process.

Alternatively, email us at [email protected] with 1) your name, 2) the workshop’s name, 3) contact details of the workshop.

I love Steer, how can I spread the word?
Invite friends who aren't on Steer yet by sending them your invite link. They'll get $10 off their first booking. Once they complete their first booking, you’ll get $10 too!

Workshops that sign up to be listed on Steer go through our verification process during onboarding, and before being listed on our platform.
